Stunning Panorama on a Curved Screen: PLANETARIUM Starry Cafe
There are several cafes at Haneda Airport, but PLANETARIUM Starry Cafe is the place to be if you are going to bring small children.
At PLANETARIUM Starry Cafe, you can eat a meal while enjoying a planetarium show.
The shows include a planetarium program to describe the constellation of each season, as well as a video program that shows tourist destinations of the world. Each program consists about 5 to 15 minutes.

The planetarium space looks like this. Wow, look! The ceiling is made into a curved screen, feels like you are looking at dimming sky.
There is a round screening machine at the center of the planetarium space, projecting 40 million stars on the screen. How romantic is it to spend the time in a place like this?!
You can also watch other programs besides planetarium shows. One of the shows that I thought was interesting was an animation called “A Traveling Plush Toy”!

It is a story about a girl's favorite plush toy being separated from her, and the plush toy traveling around to find the girl. The plush toy travels all over the world. Facing multiple barriers and challenges, the story ends quite touching.
For lunch, pasta dishes including carbonara and Bolognaise are on the menu.
As for cafe menu, cheesecake and roll cake seem popular among small children and ladies.
At night, they also serve alcoholic beverages including beer and wine! I recommend visiting here with your family as everyone from small children to adult can enjoy.

Who wants to be a pilot? Come over to Flight Simulator @TIAT Sky Road!
Being a little-known good spot of Haneda Airport, the Flight Simulator on TIAT Sky Road in the TOKYO POP TOWN, 5th Floor of the International Terminal is becoming very popular recently. It’s a place you can experience being a pilot of a passenger plane.
Going onto the TIAT Sky Road, you will see a vehicle that looks like a plane. That’s the flight simulator. There are four types of simulators, and each is different in the difficulty levels of the flight.
【Simulator Aircraft No. 1】
1 Route Intermediate C Honolulu (Evening) > Haneda (Morning)
2 Route Intermediate A Paris (Day) > Haneda (Evening)
3 Route Intermediate A Haneda (Night) > Dubai (Evening)
4 Route Advanced C Frankfurt (Evening) > Haneda (Rainy)
5 Route Advanced B Haneda (Rainy) > New York (Morning)
6 Route Advanced A London Heathrow (Evening) > Haneda (Bad Weather)
【Simulator Aircraft No. 2】
1 Route Beginner A Haneda (Day) > Excursion in Tokyo A
2 Route Beginner B New York (Evening) > Haneda (Evening)
3 Route Intermediate C Honolulu (Evening ) > Haneda (Morning)
4 Route Intermediate B Paris (Day) > Haneda (Morning)
5 Route Intermediate A Haneda (Day) > Dubai (Day)
6 Route Advanced C Frankfurt (Day) > Haneda (Rainy)
【Simulator Aircraft No. 3】
1 Route Beginner A Haneda (Day) > Excursion in Tokyo A
2 Route Beginner B New York (Evening) > Haneda (Evening)
3 Route Intermediate C Honolulu (Evening ) > Haneda (Morning)
Looking at the routes and the difficulty levels, you’ll know they are quite full-scale simulations!
I decided to try the easiest route, the excursion in Tokyo. This is the route going off from Haneda Airport and back.

The guide voice from the speaker tells you how to operate the simulator, but it was actually harder than I thought it would have been. I couldn’t get it no matter how many times I tried, it turns out I’m not meant to be a pilot I guess. It was very satisfying to get to experience the atmosphere where pilots steer.

In the simulators, there are routes going from Haneda Airport to airports overseas, in various levels. You will have to go a number of times in order to complete all the levels, as you have to be sensible and go up every level.
All simulators are for one person’s ride, and the advanced level Aircraft No. 1 is 300 YEN (available for 10 years old and above), No. 2-4 is 200 YEN per play. You will need to pay by coins before you go on board. They only take 100 YEN coins, so be sure to bring enough before you get there!
Introducing the services for family who is traveling with infants!
Last but not least, in this last part of the article I am going to share some useful information for families traveling with babies.
Use the Baby Nurseries at Haneda Airport
The baby nurseries at Haneda Airport is located near each of the restrooms.
The baby nurseries are open to men as well, daddies are more than welcome to use them.
In the nursery, nursing booths, baby sheets, washstands and hot water supplies, and chairs are equipped.
There is a clean water heater dedicated to preparing formula milk on the washing stand. If you are going to formula feed, please feel free to use these facilities. Be cautious of the hot water, as the temperature of water heater goes up to about 80 degrees Celsius.
The equipped medicated hand soap dispensers receive good reviews from customers. Considering the delicate skin of the babies, we use the medicated hand wash.

Haneda Airport offers strollers for rent at each Information Counter and near Baggage Claim. Feel free to use it for transportation within terminal or to another terminal, or when you have to wait for a long time.
We get a lot of inquiries about this, the strollers are available for you to use until the boarding gate, just before your departure. Daddies and Mommies who are traveling with babies, please feel free to use it.

Play until Departure and Sleep Tight on Board!

There is a kids’ corner in the Departure concourse before the boarding gate.
This is provided for everyone to play on equipment.
Have your kids play as much as they want before the flight, then they will be in their dreams during the flight. If that goes as well as it is, then daddies and mommies can get some rest too...
There are two locations of kids’ corner, one near the Gate 106-107 and another one near the Gate 145-146. A perfect spot to spend your waiting time.
